Text
In three lectures - What Does Political Art Want?, Painting as Dispositive and The Design of Criticism - Helmut Draxler continues his reflections from Dangerous Substances. These events were accompanied by three exhibitions organised at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna by young artists in the context of their reading of Draxler.
The lectures, reading-based exhibitions and work on the present publication were in turn reflected upon in conversations among the participants. These conversations are also documented. The result is a reader that is also a proposal for how the theory and practice of art can be placed in a relationship to each other without dissolving, and how only in this proportionality can the symbolic space of critique be opened up.
