This exercise set combines human rights education with physical movement to facilitate legal education for students and other audiences from diverse backgrounds. It offers adaptable exercises for facilitators, focusing on the right to private life (Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, ECHR), especially the right to one’s image. The exercises touch on human rights in daily life, explain different human rights systems, and elucidate the roles of State bodies in protecting rights, such as addressing unauthorised photo circulation online. They also help people understand the complexities of balancing different human rights at the same time. The exercise set results from the project “Rights Moves – Embodied Legal Learning” (2023-2024) as part of the call ‘TRANSFORM – Digital and Social Transformations in Higher Education’ (a collaboration between Johannes Kepler University Linz and the University of Applied Arts Vienna). It was sponsored by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science, and Research.
