Description

Guido Hoffmann is a game developer and illustrator. As part of a workshop, he will reflect on the role of rules and rule-breaking in games in an experimental setting together with students from the master’s programme Experimental Game Cultures. Hoffmann’s game designs often incorporate natural laws into the game mechanics, resulting in new approaches to questions of chance, co-operative play and the role of the human body in play. Hoffmann grew up in Frankfurt am Main and learnt product design in Offenbach am Main. In 1983, he moved to Vienna and studied painting under Maria Lassnig at what was then the Hochschule für Angewandte Kunst. Since completing his studies, Hoffmann has worked both as a game developer and as an artist.
