Description

ASchool seeks to generate critical pedagogy by developing open syllabi to foster more diverse and emancipatory study by actively including artists, activists, students, and researchers. By using open-source infrastructure and experimental approaches such as collaborative annotation and the active involvement of local partners, the school will create frameworks for new curricula and learning environments, which will later be implemented at network partner institutions. This first meeting of the network is an open invitation to others to shape the future of the ASchool, with participants inviting individuals and institutions alike. The goal of the school is to foster civic education, artistic and scientific competencies, and critical media literacy. ASchool is initiated by network partners: transmediale, Peter Weibel Research Institute for Digital Cultures, TU Dresden, Het Nieuwe Instituut, and the University of Limerick.
