RIS Synergy creates relief and visibility for scientific operations by setting standards, digitising services and networking expertise. The project develops open access and exchange options for systems used by funding bodies, research institutions and public administration. This creates a sustainable and forward-looking basis for the digitisation of the Austrian research landscape. The standardised exchange of metadata reduces the workload for researchers, increases the efficiency and quality of research support and improves the data quality of research output. The networking of research information, initiatives, projects and services enables a well-founded and diverse presentation of Austria as a research location for all research-relevant actors. As part of RIS Synergy, a concept study for a national research portal is being prepared. A national research portal would make research achievements in our country visible to everyone. New research priorities could be identified at an early stage and innovative networking opportunities for research, politics, business and the interested public could be offered.
