'HURTING WORDS' is part of Barbara Macek's project about the fictional logic of pain and plays with the ambivalent meaning of the title. It deals with the notion of the hurting word as a metaphor, a common figure of speech but also as the result of current neuropsychological research revealing the crucial role of the imaginary in the pain experience.
