EXPERIMENTAL (!) SOUND DESIGN

Voice/Sound - Recording, Synthesisers, Sounddesign.

How do I record speech, singing and sounds correctly, and what can I do with them? When do you need mono and when do you need stereo microphones? Creative audio editing. Practical introduction to synthetic sound generation (Synthesizers) and its artistic application in music and sound production.

Relevant programme / digital audio workstation (DAW): Logic.

Aim: Dubbing of a short video in Logic or the composition of an autonomous piece of music/sound. The knowledge acquired in the basic course [artistic seminar (SEK), 2.0 ECTS, 2.0 semester hours, course no. S04304] is supplemented by the above-mentioned content.

Examination Modalities

Attendance is compulsory without exception for the entire duration of the preliminary meeting !

Dubbing a silent film of 2 minute's duration by use of Logic's synthesizers.

One (1) of three films offered can be selected for this purpose.

Alternatively, a ‘stand-alone piece’ (Sound/Musik Only) can also be created.

Comments

Knowledge is partly imparted via online videos, which ensures maximum flexibility. Feedback and progress take place in physical presence. Sound recording (microphoning) is taught in physical presence in small groups. The exact course of the lecture will be sufficiently explained in the preliminary meeting. Therefore, the preliminary meeting is obligatory for all participants!

The workstations in the video studio are available. Detailed explanation of the course will be given in the preliminary meeting.
