Main Tasks
Software Development of Innovative Apps
The base team develops innovative digital solutions to support art and science, research and teaching and provides these via base Angewandte to scientific and administrative staff, students, alumni and the public. All developed apps are multi-lingual and web-based, so they can be used easily anytime and from any device; all you need is an internet connection. For some applications (e.g. Chat and Cloud) additional mobile apps are available. The technologies we build on are open source. Several parts of the base Angewandte are published as open source on Github and are already being used by partner institutions.
Further information on completed projects as well as on planned projects can be found on the ”About the base”-page.
Contact Point for Questions on Digitalisation
As a competence centre for questions on digitalisation and software development, the base supports all university members in digitalisation topics. As part of this consulting process, we address digitalisation issues and work together on concrete solutions.
Dissemination of Expertise through Teaching
In close collaboration with the Coding Lab, the base offers several courses in order to provide the web development expertise also to students.
Additionally, the base contributes to the networking of teachers at the Angewandte who include programming and software development aspects in their courses.
