Description

With POKING SYSTEMS – Celebrating Synfluence, the Series of Scenographic Studies was continued by translating core insights of SENSING LIVING SYSTEMS into a multisensory installation environment. At the center of the space stood a hollow tree trunk placed on a pedestal. Inside, folded notes carried quotations developed throughout the project – reflections by members of the research team as well as references to key thinkers in systems science. Visitors were invited to reach inside, take a note, and continue the dialogue beyond the exhibition space. Around the trunk, branches collected in the Wienerwald and on the coast of Songkhla (Thailand) were plastered and inscribed with handwritten terms related to systems principles. On the floor, words such as EMPATHY, CARE, BOUNDARIES, RULES, KNOWLEDGE, and CONTROL appeared through stencil and powder interventions, forming a fragile textual landscape. The installation was accompanied by a subtle scent of Hedione and a nearly imperceptible soundscape based on field recordings of purring kittens. Together, these elements created a quiet but charged atmosphere that invited attentive perception. POKING SYSTEMS made parts of the research process visible and shareable. It functioned both as a presentation of findings and as an open structure that could be expanded through visitor interaction – continuing the project’s interest in systems not as fixed entities, but as evolving relational constellations. #SLS #SENSING LIVING SYSTEMS #FWFPEEKProjekt #MUELLER-DIVJAK Jeanette Müller, Paul Divjak, Alexandra Graupner, Anna-Maria Irgang
