Beschreibung

The comprehensive exhibition “My Brain Is in My Inkstand: Drawing as Thinking and Process” redefines the notion of drawing as thinking process in the arts and the sciences alike. The power of drawing and its ability to affect our perception and the design of theories derives directly from this dual nature between mark making and agency. This fundamental insight into the inevitable relation of drawing and thinking stands in close dialogue with the exhibition "The Islands of Benoît Mandelbrot: Fractals, Chaos, and the Materiality of Thinking", concurrently on view at Cranbrook Art Museum. Both exhibitions are curated by independent curator Nina Samuel. Opening reception on the 15th of November 2013 at Cranbrook Art Museum, Michigan, USA.
