Curriculum Vitae

Jens Badura (Dr habil, MAS) is Senior Scientist at the Art x Science School for Transformation at Angewandte. He is also co-director of the Graduate School "Cultures of the Alps" at the institute of the same name at the University of Lucerne, visiting professor at Berlin University of the Arts and associated researcher at Zurich University of the Arts. He also works in an advisory and curatorial capacity at the interface between academia, the cultural sector, the creative economies and politics. His work focuses on applied aesthetics, cultural philosophy and creative economies. Current projects include the question of what contributions artistic ways of thinking and processes can make outside the art world, particularly in the area of socio-ecological transformation processes. He studied philosophy, biology, history and political science in Constance and Innsbruck as well as cultural management in Vienna and was a member of the graduate college "Ethics in the Sciences and Humanities" at the International Centre for Ethics in the Sciences and Humanities at the University of Tübingen, a post-doc at the Max Weber College for Social and Cultural Studies at the University of Erfurt, the International Centre for Culture and Technology Research (IZKT, Stuttgart) and at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS, Paris). In 2006, he completed his habilitation at the University of Paris 8 (Vincennes-Saint-Denis). From 2011-2014, he was head of the research focus "Performative Practice" at the Institute for the Performing Arts and Film (IPF) at ZHdK, where he also held the lectureship "Aesthetic Theory Practice" in the MA Fine Arts from 2014-2018 and curated the creativealps_lab in the MA Transdisciplinarity from 2019-2021.
