BA Cross-Disciplinary Capabilities Application Lab (BA CDCLab) 2021 - 2024 The CDCLab is the place where the main learning goals of the study programme Cross-Disciplinary Strategies crystallise. Students learn to relate themselves and their practices in different ways and on various layers. Over the past years it has been developed as a safe space for experimentation through a cross-generational theoretical and practical exchange. Following a yearly theme, students work independently and iteratively on a project both in a research-driven written and practical-applied form. They are supported through the organisation of various workshops and guest lectures in various disciplines, as well as close supervision from CDS faculty members. Overarching guiding questions are as follows: How do disciplines relate to other disciplines, discourses to artworks, methods across disciplines? How to reach various audiences, peers? The students are primarily evaluated based on the process across the year instead of focusing on the final product. This encourages students to experiment and develop a productive way of dealing with and learning from mistakes.
