Text
Over the past decades the diagram has developed into a constitutive, generative medium for architectural design. The diagram as a visual medium facilitates a medial translation of perceived configurations in the thinking process and vice versa. Yet, today diagram is a commonplace term and its generative meaning has almost disappeared in the everyday use of this word. The group exhibition “Experimental Diagramming. Between Spatial Figuration and Abstraction” reveals an experimental use of diagrams that show their performative and transformative essence, rediscovering and presenting new experimental practices of diagramming. The exhibition curated by Anna Hougaard and Lidia Gasperoni brings together work by Kim Albrecht, Peter Behrbohm, Peter Bertram, J. Michael Birn, Jana Culek, Gerhard Dirmoser, Riet Eckhout, Nikolaus Gansterer, Mark Garcia, Paul Heinicker, Anna Hougaard, Rachel Hurst, Ephraim Joris, Agata Kycia, Adam Marcus, Dominik Mohs, Philipp Reinfeld, Francois Roche / New Territories, Mira Sanders, Guro Sollid & Maja Zander, Neil Spiller, Studio Stradivarie and will take place at the Architecture Museum of the Technical University of Berlin, Germany.
