Text
Research processes, like all projects, always involve a multitude of levels: Beside organisational, structural, and content-related requirements, questions of social processes and the team context are relevant as well. These must be considered, planned, and designed. In addition to the creation of structures and the formal framework conditions regarding data management, strategies are needed at the level of the team and the social structures in order to anchor project management sustainably. The article argues that, especially in qualitative research, data management and social components cannot be separated in interpretative procedures. Methodological strategies, such as grounded theory in this case, need a suitable social anchoring in the structures and processes of the team for goal-oriented, joint work. This article is a practical report based on the CHANSE project TRAVIS1) and describes how the team deals with the challenges of everyday data and research management and which structures were established in order to be able to work well together in the long term. After a presentation of the project and the research goals, the process of ethics agreements is discussed. After that, the focus lies on data management and the associated social processes. At the end, an insight is given into the currently ongoing discussion about the design of the collaborative interpretation processes and what considerations underlie them.
