MALAYSIA is a fairly self-contained artistic ecosystem. Little comes in and even less goes out. In other areas, the country is a veritable Heathrow of international connections, but with art it’s closer to the Galapagos Islands. One of the few current examples of international creative cooperation is a recently launched exhibition at the Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery. Two Worlds: Different Points Of Viewing is the first in a series of exhibitions that highlights the achievements of Malaysian artists whose works have travelled further from the peninsula to East Malaysia. Starting with A for Austria, Two Worlds takes us on a tour that heads west and then returns home.....
