Description

Guido Hoffmann is a game designer and illustrator. During the workshop, he will work with the participating students to explore the role of gravity in rules, rule-breaking and game mechanics within an experimental setting. Hoffmann’s game designs often incorporate the laws of nature into the game mechanics, thereby creating new approaches to questions of chance, cooperative play and the role of the human body. Hoffmann grew up in Frankfurt am Main and studied product design in Offenbach am Main. In 1983, he moved to Vienna and studied painting under Maria Lassnig at what was then the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Since completing his studies, Hoffmann has been working both as a game designer and as an artist.
