The discussion around "Enjoyable Interfaces for Boring? Data" encapsulates the idea of making typically dry, difficult to understand or mundane information engaging and user-friendly. The starting point of the reflection will be the first test of our new collaborative art installation project “Boundaries of Visualization”. In the discussion group, we try to explore how immersive, artistic and interactive installations can transform complex or monotonous data into an enjoyable user experience. Questions highlight the importance of enhancing user engagement and comprehension through innovative presentation strategies, ultimately making data exploration a more enjoyable endeavor. We want to discuss, among others, the following questions: How to... ...surpass boundaries and shyness? ...convey knowledge about data? ...mediate explicit, implicit and tacit knowledge? ...teach visitors (intuitively) to work with interfaces? ...create playful interfaces for humans? ...enable synesthetic experiences for the audience? ...lower the inhibition threshold to explore a new scientific topic? ...make visitors enjoy to interact and learn?
