Text

This program originates from a yearlong seminar at the Department of Artistic Strategies at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, which investigates portraiture and self-portraiture as catalysts for producing fabulations. Fabulation, and its connection to storytelling, is understood as a process that allows us to summon “the missing people” in order to collectively imagine a “people to come” (Deleuze). After presenting a curated program in March, the students of Bouchra Khalili's “Methods and Practices” seminar will present their own works on this evening. The screening will conclude a yearlong exploration of how to imagine community-making through the “singular as plural.” Tobias Takats, Portrait of the Dreamed, 2025, 10 min Sara Karimi, MRI-Machine Story, 2025, 10 min Oscar Grunert, Der Tod und das Mädchen, 2025, 4 min Maja Bojanić, Yours is the world in which I move uninvited, 2025, 13 min Lukas Frank, Anna Marie Aquino Lutz, Braszilcore, 2025, 19 min
