Colours of the Savannah The installation Colours of the Savannah is a visualization of an archive of local plant dyes that has been started in 2018 as part of a knowledge base of textile material culture for the Nubuke Centre for Textiles and Clay in Wa. It is a knowledge in material, intended to be passed on to the weaving communities in and around Wa, including knowledge of the professional preparation of textiles for dyeing, the identification and sustainable collection of local dye plants such as neem, dawa dawa, or teak, the processing of dyes and dyeing processes.
