Text

Undis, a public tribune facing the Adriatic Sea. In Lignano, the stone pine forest serves as a vital resource, especially in the face of climate change. The project aims to transform Piazza D'Olivo into a lively communal space, transitioning it from a car-centric asphalt area to a lush and vibrant hub. Inspired by Marcello D'Olivo's vision, the design integrates nature with urban elements, creating distinct 'islands' that waves the urban fabric to the sea by catering all year-long activities. Embracing ecology, the project emphasizes permeable surfaces and reintroduces a native flora to mitigate the local climate and reduce its environmental impact. It envisions a future of soft mobility, prioritizing pedestrian, shared transportations, and bicycle-friendly infrastructure.
