Text

In the collaborative project NOISE AQUARIUM, visualizations of tiny plankton species were created to present them as large as they are important for Earth’s ecosystems. Tomographic scanned microscopic organisms are presented in immersive art installations including Virtual and Augmented Reality features. The main challenge was to transfer the visual data of the scans into the interactive virtual world. In the context of art and science collaborations, the described practice was found to offer opportunities to convey important topics in a memorable way.
