24 November, 2024, 14:00-16:00 AUF DEN SPUREN DER 12 - A TRANSACOUSTIC WALK What connects the stars of the EU flag, the Chinese zodiac signs, the American court, the planet Jupiter, the hours of the clock, and the notes of the chromatic scale? The number 12. As part of the Festival Wien Modern 2024, the Institute for Transacoustic Research is exploring the number 12, thereby indirectly paying homage to Arnold Schoenberg. The participants of this transacoustic walk "Auf den Spuren der 12 / On the Footstep of 12" will be immersed in a "Dodecamania" and equipped witha research journal. In this journal, they can collect their own research results related to the number 12 during the walk. At each location, there is a stamp representing one of the 12 tones. These stamps are to be arranged individually in the research journal, creating a personalized 12-tone series, which will be made audible. The walk—whether undertaken individually or in small groups—takes place in all weather conditions, so please dress appropriately. Start point under the Friedensbrücke, Vienna (staircase).
