There are so many of you, am I controlling you or are you controlling you? Macrobial Disco Soundtrack is a bacteria party scene, a fantasy of the lactobacillus in the playground of the human body reminecient of a bright splintered highway. What are we made of? I am looking at the trillions of bacteria and coming into a conversation with them through image, lyrics, music. music for the joyful well being and enhancement of bacteria in the human biome. Song compositions are generally for human enjoyment and differs in style of taste and sometimes is created with a certain age group in mind.Mel E. Logan has stepped beyond these perimeters and composed musical pieces for the enjoyment of the human bacteria in our bodies, the human micro-biome.You might think of sound bathes which are known for activating the bodies resonance, as a health measure and a a nurological reset this has become a known method of healing world wide. Logan has gone a step, these resonances are focused not on the human ear – what they sound like, but rather how the sounds effect the cells, the microbes.With the piece Microbial Disco Soundtrack Mel E. Logan has composed musical compositions made to activate a happy microbiome. Logan researched into the publication of Stefano Mancuso 'The revolutionary Genius of Plants' and was fascinated by the studies of plants generating sound, as well as being affected by bird song and reacting my opening pores for pollen and photosynthesis. Logan decided at this point that the human bodies culture of microbes must also be listening and be affected by sound frequencies.With out waiting for studies she composed pieces which are meant for tools in the lab for when this is being studied. Mostly utilizing chladni plates, the frequencies which are most effective in the creating of geometric designs. These frequencies are the basis of the musical pieces Logan invited the visitors to be participants in this experiment, please listen to the sound compositions while in the bath and give Logan a report of the resulting feelings.The sound compositions are available as released music online. In the exhibition the compositions are played on a retro style music player in the form of a record player. Print outs of the studies are included as part of the presentation. Lets activate a a lively active biome.Will this music become the next wellness trend?
