13 – 14 September 2025 GRNZ! SYMPOSIUM On September 13–14, 2025, the newly founded GRNZ! Symposium for Sound Art, Bioacoustics and Onomatopoeia will take place at Symposion Lindabrunn in Lower Austria. For its first edition, four pioneering institutions come together to explore acoustic ecologies in this unique biotope: the Pegasus Institute for Pataphysics, the Institut für Transakustische Forschung (iftaf), the Institut für Medienarchäologie (IMA), and the Sandkasten-Syndikat. The program features a participatory “From Scratch” orchestra walk with Cordula Bösze, a sound performance by Sandkasten-Syndikat, and the Transakustische Revue by iftaf (Matthias Meinharter, Jörg Piringer, Ernst Reitermaier, Nikolaus Gansterer). In addition, IMA and the Pegasus Institute will present exhibitions and screenings. On Sunday, all institutes will gather for a public roundtable to share their artistic and scientific practices in dialogue. GRNZ! celebrates collaboration across disciplines and species, transforming Symposion Lindabrunn into a resonant meeting ground of sound, research, and play.
