Description

SMELL TALK DANCE marked the closing of CONCEPTION OF SŸS and the opening of SŸS DANCE within the Series of Scenographic Studies at the AIL Kassenhalle. The evening brought together artists, researchers, collaborators, and members of the public. Guests were invited to experience the six SŸS scents one final time before the presentation of the international voting results gathered in Vienna, Porto, Boston, Bangkok, and Songkhla. A central element of the event was an open panel discussion with the core team. Questions were submitted anonymously in advance and drawn from a fishbowl during the conversation. The spatial arrangement deliberately dissolved the distinction between panel and audience: no elevated stage, but a circular setting with varied seating heights. This scenographic decision reflected the project’s systemic approach to dialogue, aiming to create an exchange without fixed hierarchies or knowledge monopolies. Following the discussion, SŸS DANCE was ceremonially opened. The scent that received the highest number of votes became part of the new installation, accompanied by SŸS-inspired tracks developed during the research process. The event concluded with an open dance floor, extending reflection into embodied movement and shared experience. SMELL TALK DANCE combined presentation, discussion, and participation, offering insight into the project’s findings while continuing the research through collective engagement. #SLS #SENSING LIVING SYSTEMS #FWFPEEKProjekt #MUELLER-DIVJAK Jeanette Müller, Paul Divjak, Alexandra Graupner, Anna-Maria Irgang
