Text

Katharina Swoboda aims to explore what straying is and what it can do by focusing on urban and digitized spaces. I turn to unowned cats in Vienna to investigate animal straying. Based on my insights, I will situate straying as an affirmative artist-research practice. The guiding questions are: - What might straying look like in the more-than-human realm? - What do human and animal strays have in common? - What might feline straying look like? What can I learn about straying from cats? - What would a stray video look like? - What might straying look like in digital spaces? (KS)
