Forgotten

Text

The chocolates are filled with relics of my own homeland. They metaphorically represent the preservation of the homeland. Objects from my hometown were cast in epoxy resin. The transparent material of the resin allows the chocolates to blend into the background. So the home is mixed with the place where I take it with me. Chocolates are also often given away and change location. By snacking on the chocolates, the memory should come back to mind and briefly satisfy the longing for home. And at the same time, the mixing of the past (preserved home, relic of memory) and the present (current place where the chocolates are taken) shows a parallel to dementia. In addition, of course, the sweets are eaten away and the memory fades away.
