Curriculum Vitae
Dr. Sandra Hofmeister is an architecture and art critic and an editor. She studied architecture, art history and Romance literature in Berlin and Munich. In 2006 she earned her doctorate from the Ludwig Maximilian University. Her numerous texts have been published in German- and English-language newspapers and magazines. She is editor of several books on architecture and design. Her recent publications are "Architektur in Vorarlberg" (Edition Detail 2024) and "ARchitecture of Transformation in Flanders" (Edition Detail 2024). On the occasion of the Bauhaus anniversary, she edited the books "My Bauhaus / Mein Bauhaus" (Edition Detail 2018) and "Our Bauhaus Heritage. Unser Bauhaus Erbe" (Edition Detail 2019) with contributions from Kenneth Frampton, Anna Ramos, Hans Ibelings and many others . From 2012 to 2015, the native of Munich was editor-in-chief of the German Domus. Since October 2016 she has been editor-in-chief of Detail. She is currently teaching design history at University of Applied Arts Vienna.
