Description
I am sitting on the lawn between the two museums in the middle of the final rally of the Fridays for Future demonstration. The speakers' voices echo extremely loudly between the two buildings. It is like being in an oversized echo chamber. Every word is ground down into an washed-out wall of sound. The glow of the late sun and the psychedelic soundscape seem all the more bizarre in view of the explosive topic and the seriousness of the situation. It is a non-place for a demonstration. In between, lost tourists take selfies. Empress Maria Theresa looms mightily over the scene. I feel discomfort. Queasy. P. sleeps soundly next to me on the grass. There is no future on a dead planet, shout the demonstrators.
