Beschreibung
The procedural and the ephemeral are characteristic elements which are both present in dance and in drawing. Primary focus of this performance series – taking place at Haus am Lützowplatz Berlin, Germany – is the close encounter of choreography and drawing. Compositions become scores of the movement as well as drawings in space. Three view points collaborate with choreographers, dancers and musicians aiming to further the current development in graphics and choreography. Within its investigation each artistic position concentrates on a different aspect, thereby allowing viewers to appreciate the full scope of the three proposed formats, offering an overview of current graphic-performative strategies. These encounters between drawing and choreography are conceived so as to facilitate new interpretations of former assumptions on drawing and the way drawings are commonly read. They wish to pave the way to yet unknown forms of graphic notation as well as to provoke a broadening of each artist’s own repertoire. With performances by Morgan O’Hara; Nikolaus Gansterer; Nicole Wendel with Lea Pischke; Stella Geppert with Jan Burkhardt, Lukas Geschwind, Kathleen Heil, Michelle Lui, Hilla Steinert. Curated by Jan-Philipp Fruehsorge (Drawing Hub Berlin) and Nicole Wendel.
