The PhD deals with scientific visualization techniques of control that render the invisible visible, i.e. X-Ray, MRI, Infrared, CCTV, drone vision etc. It examines how artists use the scientific (medicine, military) imaging technologies in a dissident, deviant way in order to critique today’s massive use of surveillance technologies.
