Machining PRAXIS in Architecture 2 builds upon the concepts and knowledge introduced in MPA 1 and provides students with the opportunity to apply a computational and/or machine-oriented technique to their own architectural projects.

Utilizing machining and computational technologies not only as means of making but also as instruments of design lies at the core of the MPA course series. In this course, students can further investigate a specific technique according to their individual interests and the requirements of their studio, pre-diploma, or diploma projects. The selected technique should be explored and employed as part of both the design and making process.

The course is not offered as an official Integration course for Diploma or Pre-Diploma students. Nevertheless, Pre-Diploma students, as well as other students, are welcome to participate in order to develop and apply computational or machine-oriented techniques relevant to their own projects.

Depending on the number of participants and the subjects being investigated, the course will take the form of individual or small-group meetings. Students working on similar topics or techniques may work together and share their research and development processes.

Successful participation in Machining PRAXIS in Architecture 1 is a prerequisite for participation in this course.
