Description

This course is intended for (first semester) students from the Sculpture and Space department.

Each week, we will visit a different art institution in Vienna. We will explore both the collection of the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the university gallery. Further visits will take us to established institutions such as the Secession and the VBKÖ, as well as to Artist-Run Spaces.

The course aims to provide insights into the work of art institutions and artists and to offer a deeper understanding of their practices and contexts. Conversations and exchanges with people involved in these institutions and projects will therefore be an important part of our visits.

The visits will also include collections such as the EVN Collection and the basis wien archive.

The programme will also take exhibition openings into account and may therefore be adjusted during the semester.

During the first meeting on 15 October, I will provide an overview of the planned visits.

The course will take place every Thursday at 4:00 pm.

If the meeting point has not been announced in advance, it will be sent in a separate email on the preceding Monday.

Regular attendance and active participation in discussions.
