Beschreibung

This course embraces group critique as an artistic and discursive collective practice. Participants bring an ongoing project, work in progress, or unresolved artistic question to serve as the basis for shared observation, discussion, and experimentation.

Together, we will examine formal, material, conceptual, social, and institutional relations in order to test interpretations, question decisions, trace references, identify blind spots, and discuss ways to further develop the project collectively.

Critique is not understood as the delivery of definitive judgments but rather as a collective process through which a project is temporarily distanced from its creator and opened to the perceptions, knowledge, and possibly differing opinions of others. The course therefore depends on sustained participation. Each participant will contribute their project as well as their attention, questions, references, and engagement with the work of others.
