Beschreibung

The paradoxs of the digital constitute a rupture carrying an unknown future, and at the same time continuing traditions that can be traced at least since the early modern period. The digital, therefore, cannot be located in any set of devices, nor is it located solely in the social relations around any set of devices. The course attempts to delineate the unique properties of the digital’s operations as a regime - through historical and contemporary concepts and instances, we will formulate together the digital as a regime, as it pertails to social, mental, cultural, environmental, economic, political, metabolic, and technological phenomena.
