Beschreibung
What can quantum physics tell us about reality? Why do its predictions challenge everyday intuition, and how do experiments shape what we can observe and know?
This seminar introduces key concepts and experiments in quantum physics alongside questions about measurement, interpretation, and knowledge. Short lectures will provide the scientific background for discussions of selected texts. We will also consider how these questions arise in quantum technologies and artistic practice.
Participants will develop their own perspectives through reading and discussion. To complete the seminar, they will give a five-minute presentation and write a final essay on their conception of reality.
No prior knowledge of physics is required. Students from other departments are welcome, space permitting.
