Description
This lecture and lab course covers the technological, chemical, and physical fundamentals of analog black-and-white and color photography, both theoretically and through hands-on practice.
The course covers materials and processes, film exposure, and the entire negative and positive processing workflow—from film development to the finished print in the darkroom.
The goal is to acquire, over the course of the semester, the necessary knowledge and practical skills to independently carry out the entire photographic workflow: from exposure and negative development to the production of high-quality enlargements. These skills also form the foundation for independent work in the lab.
No prior knowledge is required! The course is specifically designed for beginners.
Examination Modalities
Exam Procedures
The V/U course is inherently exam-based.
Punctuality is required. The attendance requirement is at least 80%.
During the exam session, students must submit the prints they have created independently. The parameters of the work and the creative process will be discussed during this session.
Comments
Maximum of 8 participants!
Each session covers a self-contained topic. Attending each session and taking careful notes will enable participants to work independently in the workshop following the lecture/workshop.
You are not required to have your own camera.
