Photointaglio experimental

advanced course after having taken part in Tiefdruck 1

(or having recent experience with Intaglio printing and with Aquatint )

content:

introduction into the history and development of photointaglio..

Basic technical instruction to transform an idea (image) into a photointaglio print.

impartment of basic techniques to produce Photopolymerprinting plates .

application of the plate into the printing process.

source material is f.ex. photographical material (or drawing and painting sources ) you wish to transform phototechnically onto intaglio printingfilm .

If there is time left you are very welcome to an experimental approach , and to combine  photointaglio  with other printing techniques.

 basic knowledge of photoshop is necessary

recent practical knowledge of basic intaglio printing techniques is necessary ( Tiefdruck 1)  or recent experience with aquatint technique and intaglio printing )

aim: 

by applying  techniques during the practical workshop you should be able to comprehend analytically  and practically the processes of photointaglio at the end of the term. Printing and presenting of 2, 3 Photointaglios in edition.

Presentation of 2 to 3 Photointaglios in small edition at the end of the term

1st date is obligatory (prelimimary discussion) : Friday 2nd October  2026, 10:30 - 11:30 h

after that : Fridays  10 h - 13 h or 14 - 17 h by personal arrangement

Please note: limitation to only 6 participants per Semester! It´s obligatory to turn up if you have signed up !
