Attila Piller
Institute of Fine Arts and Media Art, Drawing and Printmaking
2026S, Project Work (PA), 2.0 ECTS, 2.0 semester hours, course number S40563
Description
The aim of this course is to create independent, project-based, serial works using printmaking as a medium. This includes expanding basic knowledge of papermaking, common units of measurement for paper and their origins, handling various types of paper, etc. Participants will develop their own sketches, designs, and ideas, preparing them for printing until they can be realized in a small-edition, representative artist's book. All printmaking techniques, from intaglio and relief printing to digital printing, will be introduced to enable participants to best realize their ideas in a serial work. In cooperation with other departments, such as book arts or wood technology, each participant can choose their individual final form, such as leather, wood, or textile binding, for their artist's book.
Examination Modalities
Assessment based on the submission of at least one completed assignment at the end of the semester.
