Description

The aim is to independently identify problems in image processing and to develop and optimize solutions based on the techniques learned.


Since this is an advanced course, the basics of Adobe Photoshop are already assumed and not taught.

You should know: The PS interface, moving windows, arranging them, opening & saving files, using layers. Create selections, edit masks.
The tools should be generally known and able to be used. Furthermore, common shortcuts such as copy / paste / cut,
Selection of multiple levels, etc.

What is taught:

- Advanced setting functions (tone value, color correction, etc.)
- Tone correction
- Color correction
- Saturation/Hue
- Masking
- Layer masks
- Paths
- Vector masks / shape layers
- Cropping using the channels (hair,...)
- Detailed retouching work (practice, special know-how, tricks)
- Raw conversion, Adobe Camera Raw and Bridge
- Smart Objects
- Workflow perfection (actions, batch mode, etc.)
- Shortcuts
- Color spaces, color management

Examination Modalities

Grading: 

I will grade attendance and participation. There are 4x2 dates (morning/afternoon), of which at least 5 must be attended to receive a grade. In case of an unplanned absence (workshop/work/illness,...) it is maybe possible to make up the work with online files. Therefore, please always mail in advance if you know you can't come.

Comments

Registrations:

There are sometimes  more registrations than we have seats in the computer studio. Therefore, at the very beginning of the first session, I will call the present students in the order of their registration and assign the 14 available places. 

External students will be assigned after regular students. 

So please come on time at 9:00 if you want a place in the VU.

If you know now that you cannot attend the class, please sign out in the base!
