Description
The course “Intruduction to Sustainability” examines various concepts and topics related to sustainability. Students are given an overview of important concepts such as the three pillars of sustainability, education for sustainable development, Agenda 2030 and Sustainable Development Goals, grand challenges such as climate change and planetary boundaries, the donut economy as well as the social and cultural dimension of sustainability and its impact on society.
In addition to input, the content is explored interactively, with various methods and in collaboration with the students.
In a group project, students reflect on what they have learned and put their ideas into practice - using artistic methods if they wish, but not necessarily. The aim is to engage with the topic of sustainability and apply theories to practice.
The units will be blocked over 7 dates.
The aim of the course is to understand the dimensions of sustainability and how they overlap. Students will be able to categorize and relate sustainability concepts.
