Description

Research question: How can creative and experimental tasks be developed for secondary school students based on the egg, with particular emphasis on cross-curricular topics (BMBWF 2023)?
The aim of the course is to develop a teaching concept (with reference to and alignment with the curriculum), to try it out in practice, to test it, and then to reflect on, evaluate, and adapt it. The adapted concept will be compiled into an open source toolbook.
Examination Modalities
- Seminar paper of 20,000-25,000 characters including spaces (main text: process of implementing the teaching concept and theoretical, subject-specific contextualization as well as evaluation of the concept, images and descriptions of the conceptual steps, translation, methods, description and contextualization of the students' work in the appendix, the adapted
- If a small artistic work is required and carried out, it must be illustrated and described (especially in terms of the process and the art-historical, material-specific, and design-historical contextualization). In this case, the seminar paper must be 15,000 characters in length, including spaces.
- Toolbook* (see notes for submission requirements)
If the course involves the development of a small artistic work, the following applies:
Examination modalities:
- 40% active participation, interim presentations (documentation of the artistic, creative work and the work steps)
- 60% text contribution Pro-seminar paper of 15,000 characters is the documentation and subject-didactic contextualization, embedding, and reflection on considerations for communicating the work and its process (idea, concept, project/lesson planning, translation, methods, illustration and description and contextualization of the students' work and one's own artistic work, materials, etc.), including a lesson plan (learning objectives of my project, didactic reserve).
- Toolbook (see notes for submission requirements)
The following applies to both options: For a positive overall assessment, both parts (participation/interim presentation and written contribution) must be completed successfully.
Latest possible submission date: 2026 September 10.
Submissions after the latest possible submission date cannot be considered; the seminar must be repeated.

Programs (and training) are available to all students at the University of Applied Arts throughout their studies in the computer studio (OKP 5th floor, 510). This requires a separate one-time request by email to computerstudio@uni-ak.ac.at with your full name, student ID number, and field of study. You can then pick up the key from the porter with your ID. If you have any problems or questions about the programs (PS, AI, Indd, After Effects, Animate, Wordpress, general project advice, etc.), Ms. Birgit Hertel can help you on site; Consultation hours can be found here: https://computerstudio.uni-ak.ac.at/#sprech. The computer studio can be used 24/7, provided that no classes are taking place: https://computerstudio.uni-ak.ac.at/#kalender.
