Institute of Fine Arts and Media Art, Drawing and Printmaking
2026S, Lecture with Practical Exercises (VU), 2.0 ECTS, 2.0 semester hours, course number S05226

Description

This printing process involves working on an aluminium plate (pre-sensitized plate).

The course content will be largely free.

The goal is to produce two types of templates for plate lithography,

(Both will be made on the transparent foil).

1: Digital drawing: drawing, collage, use and editing of photo files with Photoshop.

The finished drawing and motif is printed as a template in black and white on transparent film.

2: Analog drawing: Ink, chalk, pencil and feltpen drawing directly on the film.

different drawing techniques as well as the basic techniques of exposing, developing and printing the plates.

Results from a variety of techniques are desired, and the free combination of ideas and printing techniques will be an integral part of the course.

Please bear in mind that this course requires patience and sufficient time, as well as plenty of practice. This is because many manual and chemical processes are necessary to achieve a result.

Examination Modalities

- One monochrome or multicoloured lithograph with your own small digital motif with a small edition.

- One monochrome or multicoloured lithograph with your own small analog motif with a small edition.
