Institute of Art and Technology, Studio Analogue Photography
2026S, Lecture with Practical Exercises (VU), 1.0 ECTS, 1.0 semester hours, course number S04718
Description
From Photoshop and Lightroom into the Darkroom
Conceptually, working with Photoshop is derived from analog darkroom practices, so all tools are modeled after analog work. In this lecture, we will return to its origins and apply the tools such as stamps, gradation curves, masking mode, text tool, zoom, lasso, eraser, blur, dodge, burn, etc. to analog enlargement (color and black and white) and post-processing of prints.
ATTENTION:
To participate in the course, it is necessary to register for the course of the same name S04717 by Lisa Rastl in order to receive 2 ECTS. Advanced knowledge of analogue laboratory practice (film processing, positive processing) is a prerequisite for participation in the course as well as attendance at the 1st meeting.
Examination Modalities
