In this class we will develop a basic understanding of the evolutionary foundations of human behavior. The challenges arising from urban life will be discussed. We will identify characteristics in urban environments that either improve or worsen the living conditions of humans. We will learn how art can contribute to improving cities. Based on the theoretical knowledge we will develop research questions, carry out small projects (either literature based or empirical) and present the findings in class.
