Institute for Visual and Media Arts, Photography Lecture and Exercises (VU), 2.0 ECTS, 2.0 SemHrs., LV-Nr. S03789

The course is aimed at the first year of the Department of Photography I Visual Arts. Theoretical and practical basics of analog photographic techniques as well as first steps of digital photography including RAW development and digital workflow are taught. The following aspects will be covered in a condensed form:  Basics of analog photography, Camera technology (small format, medium format, large format), Basics of digital photography 35mm (image data and formats), Photography of two- and three-dimensional objects as well as various other exercises. The number of participants is limited to eight (8). The course is primarily intended for students of the Photography I Visual Arts class.

 

Examination Modalities

Active participation and ongoing assessment of learning progress - grading is therefore only possible if 4/5 of the dates are attended There is ongoing evaluation of understanding and knowledge during the lessons.In addition, there is 1 written (1st semester) and one practical exam (2nd semester) on the topics covered.

Comments

The following order of precedence always applies to the allocation of numerically limited course places:
 1. regular students of applied sciences who require a Pflichtfach certificate.
 2. other regular students of applied sciences
 3. extraordinary students of applied sciences
 4. co-applicants from other universities The applications are ranked within the categories in the order in which they are received.

The course is primarily intended for students of the Photography I Visual Arts class.
