Description
The course teaches the design of digital interfaces using practical examples and exercises. In addition to websites, all other designable interfaces (apps, automation, touchscreens, etc.) are also covered.
The goal for the summer semester 2026 is competence in project-based material design thinking.
Particularly successful examples with good user experience are analysed – after the course, it is possible to create these examples using your own knowledge.
Key content of the course:
- Introduction + defining the problem space
- Feasibility discovery (web technologies, components, exploratory vibe coding)
- Web technology boot camp part 1 (front end)
- Mid-fidelity prototype build
- Web technology boot camp part 2 (backend/services)
- Vibecoding boot camp – goal: generate, test and further develop feasibility as quickly as possible.
- MVP implementation (coding sprints)
- Presentation + reflection

Examination Modalities
It's all about getting really into the topic of interface design and UX. The flexibility, effort and creativity during the working process will be more important than the final outcome.
