In the course Filmgestaltung, Konzept und Umsetzung  we explore the fundamental theoretical and creative principles of production design in film. The focus is on developing visual concepts through the interaction of space, color, material, and atmosphere.

A key component of the module is location scouting as one of the central elements of production design. Students learn to analyze real locations in terms of their aesthetic and dramaturgical impact and to select them purposefully.

In the practical part of the course, students develop a visual concept for a fictional remake of a classic film in the form of a mood board and research suitable locations in Austria that support the intended style and atmosphere of the film.
