This seminar investigates performance space and its shifting status across different historical epochs, including the stage practices of the Shakespearean period, with a particular focus on contemporary cultural and societal challenges. Performance space is approached not as a neutral container, but as an ecosystem, an experimental system, and a dispositive: a site where spatial, corporeal, technological, and epistemic relations are continuously produced and negotiated. Drawing on examples from spatial and performative artistic practices, the course examines how performance space operates across inter- and transdisciplinary contexts, including choreography, literature, architecture, media art, spatial theory, and AI-informed practices. Particular attention is paid to embodied and posthuman perspectives, questioning how bodies, technologies, and environments co-constitute spatial experience.
