Description
The lecture course investigates a selection of key episodes of the history of Western architecture that influenced architectural production until today. The most important innovation steps in their development are presented. The topics range from the "first house" via the consequences of the Copernican Revolution to the digital age.

Examination Modalities
Writing of a ca. 10 page paper by appointment (incl. images and list of printed sources) in German, English or French about one project selected from the lecture course or from related fields. Viewing on site and own photos if possible are expected. The paper should provide a detailed description of the project in your own words, an analysis of its possible relevance for the contemporary architecture discourse and your own thoughts about it. AI-generated elements must be evidenced. Deadline 30 Sept 2027.
